Ne Win's Burma (Myanmar) and Robert Mugabe's early Zimbabwe reflect Left-Wing Nationalism in practice. Ne Win introduced a state-socialist model in 1962, nationalising major industries while suppressing political opposition. Mugabe's government pursued land redistribution and nationalised industries while maintaining a nationalist rhetoric. Both regimes controlled the press and opposition but did not achieve full totalitarian surveillance.
